About Camp COURAGE...

Camp COURAGE is a free, one-day camp for any child or teen who has lost a loved one.
Dealing with the death of someone we love is one of the most painful experiences in life.  The pain is no less real or intense when you are a child; however, children are often referred to as the “forgotten mourners” in our society.
For this reason, we are offering a one-day bereavement camp for children aged 5-18.    Camp COURAGE is not intended to simply “try and make things better,” but to let children know that sadness is normal following a death and that they are not alone in their grief.
Camp COURAGE is not a sad or depressing day.  Your child will learn positive coping through games, crafts and other fun activities.
At the end of the camp, there will be a balloon release in loving memory of those who have died.  Parents are encouraged to attend this special ceremony.
Children are amazing in their strength and resilience when faced with the death of a loved one.  Let us validate their loss and offer our love, care and support.  Through this we will discover that children have much to teach us about looking to the future with hope.
